Maxin L. Reiss Fund

Dr. Maxin Reiss's professional life was purely dedicated to helping individuals with special needs to live more independent and fulfilling lives through the science of behavior analysis. After receiving her PhD from Florida State University, she co-founded Behavior Management Consultants (BMC) in Tallahassee in 1980. Over the course of her 40 year career, she led the consultants of BMC in helping others to live better and happier lives. Maxin did not waver in her drive to “do what is right” to preserve the dignity of each individual she touched.

Maxin believed that every individual deserved the high standard of care that BMC provided, regardless of income.

 

Maxin would fight tirelessly to get families the services they needed — arguing with insurance companies over the phone for hours, advocating for the services that their clients needed and deserved. When insurance companies wouldn't budge, BMC donated the costs to make sure that families got the needed services.

In Maxin's honor and memory, we’ve established the Maxin L. Reiss Fund for improving lives through behavior change. All proceeds will directly benefit individuals with developmental, behavioral or mental health needs, who otherwise could not access the skills of professional behavior analysts.
